EAM congratulates France Chimie for its pledge to promoting the values of the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA). The organisation, which represents trade unions and thousands of companies in the French chemistry industry, has said it will work towards sustainable goals, gender inclusivity and promote the mobility of apprentices.

These goals are set by the EAfA, an initiative led by the European Commission’s DG Employment, with the goal of increasing the attractiveness of apprenticeships in Europe.

What concrete steps have been taken to facilitate international mobility for apprentices?

Unlike exchanges for full-time students, mobility for apprentices means adapting both your coursework and your company time. If apprentices are paired with a host company abroad, they may need to continue their education online. France Chimie has taken concrete steps to develop e-learning programs and a digital skills certification to assist the transition to online learning.

Euro App Mobility’s role

EAM coordinates one of the EAfA’s community groups focused on international mobility, where it connects various partners to share knowhow. France Chimie’s affiliation to the community was facilitated through its sectoral apprenticeship operator, OPCO 2i.

Besides this, EAM also animates its own network of actors through the European Coalition for Apprenticeship Mobility, which aims to incorporate exchanges into apprenticeship curricula.
